NATO Seeks Military Space Contributions From All Members
Original: NATO Seeks Alliance-Wide Military Space Contributions
NATO is asking all alliance members to make military space contributions, expanding the alliance's collective approach to space as an operational domain. According to Aviation Week, the effort aims to spread responsibility for satellites, surveillance and space-based capabilities more evenly across the alliance rather than relying on a few leading nations. The push reflects growing concern over space threats and reliance on space assets for defence.
Why now: NATO is deepening its military focus on space, a topic of high strategic relevance amid tensions with Russia and China.
