Evolution and climate change absent from Florida's new science standards
Original: Evolution, climate change missing from Florida's new K-12 science standards
Florida has released new K-12 science standards that omit evolution and climate change, according to WUSF reporting. The exclusion is drawing criticism from science educators and advocates who argue students need instruction on these core topics, while supporters of the standards have not been quoted in the available coverage.
Why now: Debates over how evolution and climate change are taught in public schools remain contentious in Florida.
