Technology glitch triggered Fargo schools secure building alert
Original: Technology glitch blamed for mass Fargo Public Schools ‘secure building’ notification
Fargo Public Schools says a technology glitch caused a mass notification telling families that district buildings were in a 'secure building' status, prompting concern among parents. The district clarified the alert was sent in error and that no actual threat to students or staff occurred. Officials have not detailed whether the messaging system has been fixed to prevent repeats.
Why now: Mass safety alerts at schools alarm parents, and the district's explanation that it was a technical error is driving local attention.
