Singapore government dating app uses Gale-Shapley matching algorithm
Original: Singapore govt dating app uses Gale-Shapley stable marriage algorithm
Singapore's government-backed dating platform is reportedly built on the Gale-Shapley stable marriage algorithm, the classic matching method that pairs participants so no two would rather swap partners. The algorithm, which won its creators a Nobel Prize in economics, is widely used in school admissions and organ donation matching. Commenters are amused that matchmaking software now runs on a decades-old academic algorithm.
Why now: The novelty of a government dating app relying on a famous Nobel-winning economics algorithm is drawing attention and debate.
