Israel says it will expand security checks on pilots following an attack on a flydubai aircraft. Flydubai flight FZ1073 suddenly plunged from over 30,000 feet on Wednesday, an incident passenger Almog Italie described as feeling like the plane was passing through massive turbulence before he realized what was happening. The move signals heightened concern over aviation security and the screening of flight crew following the mid-flight attack.
Why now: A mid-flight attack on a commercial airliner and Israel's resulting security policy change are prompting concern over air travel safety.
