Nostalgia for the Wilder Days of Television
Original: I Miss When TV Shows Were This Bonkers
Commentary circulating online argues that television has lost its appetite for risk, with writer Kevin Fallon musing that he misses when TV shows were 'this bonkers'. The piece taps into a wider debate among viewers about whether modern, tightly managed prestige dramas have replaced the chaotic, unpredictable energy of earlier television eras. Readers are sharing their own favourite examples of gloriously unhinged shows from the past.
Why now: It resonates with ongoing audience nostalgia for the more unpredictable, experimental television of earlier decades.
