BBB warns public over storm chaser scams
Original: BBB: Be careful of “Storm Chasers”
The Better Business Bureau is urging people to be careful of so-called storm chasers, contractors who travel to areas hit by severe weather offering quick repairs. The warning, reported by KHON2, comes as the agency cautions that these workers may be unlicensed, overcharge, or disappear after taking payment. Homeowners are advised to verify credentials before signing anything.
Why now: People are searching for the BBB's warning likely following recent storm activity that brings out fraudulent repair contractors.
