Volunteers sought to count roadside wildlife in October
Original: Volunteers can help tally roadside animals Oct. 2 – 11
Residents are being invited to volunteer for a roadside wildlife tally running October 2 to 11, organised by The Plumas Sun's coverage area in California. Participants will help record animals found along roads, data that can inform understanding of local wildlife movement and roadkill patterns. The project relies on community members to survey designated routes during the ten-day window.
Why now: The count is a hands-on community science effort taking place right now, and organisers are recruiting participants.
