Opel Astra gets new rear brakes ahead of inspection

A car owner is replacing the rear brake discs and pads on their Opel Astra to prepare it for its periodic technical inspection, equivalent to the MOT or TÜV test. They note the car ages more from rust than from use because it is driven so little, and that a planned carport to shield the vehicles from rain was never built during a wet summer.

Why now: Car maintenance and passing the mandatory roadworthiness inspection is a common seasonal chore many drivers relate to.
