New biotech alliance urges Congress to defend US leadership
Original: New biotech alliance tells Congress to fight for US dominace
A newly formed biotech alliance is pressing Congress to act to secure American dominance in biotechnology. The group's message, reported by Endpoints News, frames US leadership in biotech as a priority requiring federal backing, likely against competition from countries such as China. Details on the alliance's members and specific policy requests remain limited, but the call adds to a growing Washington debate over industrial and national-security policy in biotech.
Why now: US biotech competitiveness and its rivalry with China are prominent issues in current congressional policy debates.
