F1's Bahrain Grand Prix Reportedly Set for Malaysia
Original: 3,700 Miles From Home: Why F1's Bahrain GP Is Racing in Malaysia
Formula 1's Bahrain Grand Prix is reported to be held in Malaysia, roughly 3,700 miles from its usual home at the Sakhir circuit in the Gulf. The claim, picked up by Yahoo Sports, suggests a relocation of the race to a distant host country. Details about the timing, the venue, and the reasons behind the move have not been confirmed, and reaction from teams, the sport's governing body, and fans is not yet clear.
Why now: The reported relocation of a race far from its traditional host would be a major and unusual change for Formula 1.
