Japanese-language baseball commentary is arguing that fans who only criticise could damage the sport, while examining MLB's economic disparity and the case for introducing a salary cap like other major US leagues. The discussion questions whether a cap would genuinely fix competitive imbalance or create new problems for teams and players.
Why now: Ongoing concern about payroll gaps between big- and small-market MLB teams keeps the salary cap debate alive among Japanese baseball fans.
