Charles Barkley reiterates this year is his last on TV
Original: Barkley continues to say this year his last on TV
Charles Barkley is again saying that this will be his final year working on television, repeating a retirement pledge he has made before. The basketball Hall of Famer has been a fixture on NBA studio coverage for decades, so any suggestion of his departure draws attention. Observers note he has made similar statements in the past without following through, leaving questions about whether this time is different.
Why now: Barkley is one of the most prominent NBA broadcast personalities, so repeated hints about retiring from TV generate ongoing speculation about his future.
