Katharine Whitehorn quip on born-again Christians circulates again
Original: But why do born-again people so often make you wish they’d never been born the first time? —Katharine Whitehorn ________
A sharp line from the late British columnist Katharine Whitehorn — asking why born-again people so often make you wish they'd never been born the first time — is being shared widely. The quote, taken from her decades of writing for The Observer, is drawing amused agreement from atheist and secular readers, while the exchange inevitably brushes up against debates about faith, proselytising and religious enthusiasm.
Why now: The quip's biting take on evangelical enthusiasm resonates with secular users in ongoing online religion debates.
