New Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Drops Micro USB at Last
Original: Thank the Lord: The New Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Finally Ditches Micro USB https://gizmodo.com/amazon-fire-tv-4k-20008193
Amazon has released a new Fire TV Stick 4K that replaces its long-criticized Micro USB port, a change welcomed by tech commentators. The Micro USB connection had persisted on the streaming stick for years despite the industry's move to USB-C, and the switch means users no longer need an obsolete cable type for power. Coverage so far is light, focused mainly on the hardware change itself.
Why now: The new Fire TV Stick 4K finally adopting a modern port is a small but long-awaited change for streaming gadget users.
