Schmitt floated as running mate for a Vance 2028 ticket
Original: Schmitt floated as Vance 2028 VP
Missouri Senator Eric Schmitt is being floated as a potential vice-presidential pick on a JD Vance 2028 Republican ticket. The chatter places Schmitt, a staunch Trump ally, alongside the Vice President as discussion of the next GOP field begins well ahead of the primaries.
Why now: Early speculation about the 2028 Republican ticket is starting as Vance positions himself as the party's heir apparent.
