Original: @schumer.senate.gov Resign! @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social@bsky.brid.gy Resign! Democrats in congress should pick AOC for
Democratic supporters are calling on Senate leader Chuck Schumer and House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries to resign, arguing party leadership has failed. Some are urging congressional Democrats to back Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for Speaker of the House and Bernie Sanders for Senate majority leader. The demands reflect frustration within the party's left wing over its direction and leadership.
Why now: Frustration among Democrats over the party's current leadership has sparked demands for a change toward more progressive figures.
