Ukraine Launches 'Army of Robots' for Combat Support
Original: Ukraine’s Fedorov Launches ‘Army of Robots’ for Combat Support
Ukraine has launched an initiative dubbed the 'Army of Robots', spearheaded by Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, aimed at deploying robotic systems to support combat operations. The programme is intended to reduce risks to soldiers by using ground robots for tasks such as logistics, evacuation and assault support, continuing Kyiv's push to automate frontline functions during the war with Russia.
Why now: Ukraine's growing use of uncrewed and robotic systems on the battlefield is drawing attention as the war with Russia continues.
