SpaceX's Texas base sits in a county that just turned blue
Original: Elon Musk moved SpaceX to red Texas. Now it's blue. What happens next?
Elon Musk relocated much of SpaceX's operations to Cameron County in South Texas, near Brownsville, expecting a reliably conservative corner of the state. Recent election results show the area shifting Democratic, upending that assumption. The change raises questions about local politics around Starbase, the company's launch site, and how Musk and SpaceX will navigate a newly blue electorate next door to their operations.
Why now: Recent election results in the Rio Grande Valley contradicted the assumption that SpaceX's Texas home region would stay reliably Republican.
