Robbie, a blind social media user, shared that a sighted friend texted him asking how to play Netflix shows as audio only, after using audio description while running and driving but finding the video drains his phone battery. Robbie said he never expected to be consulted on this, and the exchange has drawn amused attention to how audio description has become useful well beyond blind audiences.
Why now: People find it notable that audio description is now popular with sighted viewers who want to listen rather than watch.
