Israeli ministers call flydubai cockpit incident attempted terror attack
Original: Israeli ministers cast flydubai cockpit incident as 'attempted terror attack'
Israeli government ministers are describing an incident aboard a flydubai flight involving the cockpit as an 'attempted terror attack'. The characterisation has drawn attention because the airline is Emirati, and officials' framing could affect perceptions of air travel security on routes involving Israel and the UAE. Details of what occurred on board and of any arrests or charges have not been laid out in the available reports.
Why now: Ministers' decision to label the onboard incident terrorism raises diplomatic and security sensitivities between Israel and the UAE.
