A general strike over the cost of life has brought a convoy of around 180 trucks through Rome, with protesters blaming Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's government. The demonstration follows a rally the previous day that, according to participants, drew a million Italians into the streets over the same grievances.

Why now: Italy is seeing large-scale strike and protest action over the cost of living, drawing wide attention to opposition to Meloni's government.
