In Veracruz, Mexico, the group REVIVE is restoring damaged mangroves by planting seedlings on raised mounds modelled on chinampas, an ancient Aztec farming technique. The organisation has also reintroduced around 80 Morelet's crocodiles to the area as part of its wider ecological restoration work.

Why now: The unusual combination of ancient indigenous methods and crocodile reintroduction makes the restoration effort notable and shareable.
