Khatibzadeh: Iran Is Not Seeking Nuclear Weapons
Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Khatibzadeh stated that Iran is not seeking nuclear weapons, reiterating Tehran's long-standing position that its nuclear programme is peaceful. The remarks come amid ongoing international scrutiny of Iran's nuclear activities and talks over its nuclear programme, which remain a central point of tension with Western governments.
Why now: Iran's nuclear programme remains a live international dispute, so official statements from Tehran draw attention.
