Fifty children from Ukraine are spending the week at Borussia Dortmund's football school, taking a break from the war in their home country. The training camp in North Rhine-Westphalia is run together with arms company Rheinmetall, which is supporting the project. The initiative has drawn attention because of the unusual pairing of a football club and a defence firm offering respite to children affected by the conflict.

Why now: The mix of wartime respite for Ukrainian children, BVB and arms maker Rheinmetall draws public attention
