Original: halloween snoep spijkers

Belgian and Dutch parents are being warned after sharp objects, including needles, nails and even fish hooks, were found hidden in sweets handed out to children during Halloween trick-or-treating. Reports describe children nearly ingesting the contaminated candy, and police are urging families to carefully check all collected treats before eating them, with warnings spreading quickly across Belgium and the Netherlands.

Why now: Fresh reports of dangerous objects hidden in Halloween candy have alarmed parents right as children bring home their trick-or-treat hauls.
