What happens if US midterm results are contested
Original: midterm results
Attention is turning to how disputed US midterm results would be resolved. According to Reuters, when midterm results are contested, Congress has the final say in determining the outcome. The reminder comes as Americans await results from across the country, with narrow margins in some races raising the possibility of legal challenges and recounts.
Why now: US midterm elections are happening now, and close or disputed outcomes would put Congress in the decisive role.
