Sanrio character flip-phone key holders launch in Japan

Original: オーナメント

Famitsu reports that Sanrio Characters key holders styled after retro flip phones, featuring Cinnamoroll, Kuromi and other favourites in pixel art, will go on sale in their second and third waves from November 11 at the Cap-Evo stores in Japan. The charms light up like old mobile phone screens, tapping into nostalgia for 2000s galakei handsets. Fans of kawaii accessories and Y2K revival fashion are sharing the news widely.

Why now: The cute retro flip-phone design taps into the current Y2K nostalgia trend among Japanese fans.
