NAPLAN writing test to return to pen and paper by 2028
Original: naplan pen and paper 2028
Australia's Year 5 NAPLAN writing test will move back to pen and paper from 2028, according to a report in the Australian Financial Review. The change reverses the shift to online testing for writing, amid ongoing debate about handwriting skills in the digital age and concerns over how well typed assessments measure students' writing ability.
Why now: A newly announced policy change to a major national school assessment has prompted debate among parents and educators.
