Developer questions flood of Hacker News clone apps
Original: Ask HN: Isn't anyone worried about this flood of HackerTube-but-for apps?
A Hacker News user is asking whether others are worried by the growing number of apps pitching themselves as 'HackerTube-but-for' — niche video or content platforms modelled on the same formula. The question sparked modest engagement, with commenters invited to weigh in on whether the wave of similar clone-style apps signals a saturation problem or a healthy trend of specialised communities building their own platforms.
Why now: The question taps ongoing debate about endless cloning of successful community platforms.
