Russia's Rassvet satellite constellation fails after launch

Original: russia rassvet constellation orbit failure

Russia's attempt to deploy the Rassvet satellite constellation, pitched as a domestic rival to SpaceX's Starlink, has run into serious trouble again: newly launched satellites reportedly burned up in the atmosphere after failing to reach their intended orbit. The loss is another setback for Moscow's efforts to build a low-orbit broadband network amid sanctions and repeated technical failures.

Why now: News broke that Russia's latest attempt to launch its Starlink rival ended with the satellites burning up, revamping interest in the country's space setbacks.
