Scientists Discover Spiders May Enter a Dream-Like Sleep State

Original: Do Spiders Dream? Scientists Discover a Mysterious Sleep State https:// scitechdaily.com/do-spiders-dr eam-scientists-di

Researchers report that spiders show signs of a mysterious sleep state resembling REM sleep, raising the possibility that the arachnids may dream. Observations of jumping spiders found their legs twitching and eyes flickering during rest, patterns similar to dreaming in mammals and birds. Scientists say the findings could reshape understanding of how sleep evolved, though whether spiders truly dream remains an open question.

Why now: New research suggesting spiders may experience a REM-like sleep state is surprising and has captured science readers' attention.
