QR-Jacking lets attackers hijack abandoned brand domains in printed QR codes

Original: QR-Jacking: Angreifer können verwaiste Marken-Domains von QR-Codes übernehmen Sie erlaubt es, ungenutzte Marken-Subdomai

Security researchers warn of a technique dubbed QR-Jacking, in which attackers register lapsed or unused brand subdomains that are embedded in already-printed QR codes. Scans then send smartphones to attacker-controlled pages, while the browser may still briefly display the trusted brand name. Companies are being urged to audit their QR codes and secure the domains behind them.

Why now: Businesses and security experts are alarmed that printed QR codes in the wild cannot be changed once their underlying domain lapses and is taken over.
