A Ukrainian air raid alert application was compromised, sending users false notifications about a radiation threat. The incident is being treated as part of ongoing information warfare against Ukraine, with observers warning that manipulated emergency alerts can sow panic and undermine trust in official warning systems. The attackers' identity has not been confirmed.
Why now: Cyberattacks that weaponise civilian warning systems during the war in Ukraine draw immediate concern about disinformation and public safety.
