Users Seek Self-Deleting File-Sharing Alternatives to Proton
Original: Anyone know a good service for "delivering" files to ppl? Somewhere I can upload files for someone to download that will
A user is asking for recommendations for a file-transfer service that lets people upload files for others to download, with automatic deletion after a set time. They want it to be free and open-source software, and say they want to avoid AI features — noting such a service is the only reason they still use Proton.
Why now: Frustration with AI features being added to existing services is prompting users to look for FOSS alternatives
Evidence
- Anyone know a good service for "delivering" files to ppl? Somewhere I can upload files for someone to download that will delete itself after some time, preferably FOSS and anti-AI. Its the only thing I still use Proton for. #open-source #foss #anti-ai #no-ai #fuck-ai #proton · cloudskater@bark.wolp.chat · 2
