China's Humanoid Robot Race Shifts From Legs To AI Brains
Original: China’s Humanoid Robot Race Shifts From Legs To AI Brains
China's humanoid robot industry is changing focus: instead of competing on physical capabilities like walking and balance, companies are now racing to develop the AI 'brains' that let robots understand and act autonomously. The shift suggests hardware has matured enough that intelligence, not mobility, is now the key differentiator among Chinese robotics firms chasing commercial deployment.
Why now: Competition among Chinese robotics companies is intensifying and the battleground is moving to artificial intelligence, drawing attention to the industry's next phase.
