Ron Burgundy-style news account recaps UK headlines
Original: Good evening, San Diego! I'm Ron Burgundy, and this is your Sunday night news. I'm kind of a big deal. People know me. 🇬
A novelty news account styled as Anchorman's Ron Burgundy delivered a Sunday night roundup of UK headlines, including reports that Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood is expected to scale back plans requiring most migrants to wait 10 years instead of 5 for permanent settlement. The fictional anchorman persona greeting San Diego while summarising British politics is drawing amused attention.
Why now: The comedic contrast of a fictional American anchorman presenting serious UK immigration news makes it shareable entertainment.
