GOG explores reviving physical PC game releases
GOG, the digital PC game storefront run by CD Projekt, is exploring a return to physical game releases, according to Tom's Hardware. The move would bring back boxed PC editions, a format that has largely disappeared as digital distribution took over the industry. Details about which titles or formats might be involved have not been announced.
Why now: Gamers and industry watchers find it notable that a digital-first store is considering a revival of boxed PC games amid nostalgia for physical media.
