All Music Aspires to the Condition of Reggae
Original: All #music aspires to the condition of #reggae .
A claim circulating online holds that all music aspires to the condition of reggae, echoing Walter Pater's famous line that all art aspires to the condition of music. The statement is being shared as a provocative take on reggae's influence, rhythm and cultural reach, inviting debate about whether the genre represents an ideal other music moves toward.
Why now: The bold analogy between reggae and all music invites discussion and disagreement about reggae's cultural status
