Henderson pulls ICE training facility proposal from council agenda
Original: City of Henderson pulls ICE regional training facility proposal from council agenda
The City of Henderson, Nevada has withdrawn a proposal for a regional ICE training facility from its city council agenda. The item had been scheduled for council consideration, but officials pulled it before discussion. No reason for the removal was given. The move comes amid heightened local and national attention to immigration enforcement operations and the expansion of ICE facilities across the country.
Why now: Immigration enforcement facilities are a flashpoint issue, and the withdrawal raises questions about local opposition or political pressure.
