Russia and Ukraine agree regular humanitarian missions in Oleshky
Original: Russia, Ukraine agree to hold regular humanitarian missions in Oleshky
Russia and Ukraine have agreed to hold regular humanitarian missions in Oleshky, the occupied southern Ukrainian city in Kherson region flooded after the Kakhovka dam collapse. The deal provides for recurring joint missions to deliver aid and assist residents. It is a rare example of cooperation between the two warring countries, which have held almost no direct agreements since Russia's full-scale invasion began.
Why now: Any agreement between Russia and Ukraine is rare, making this humanitarian deal notable amid the ongoing war.
