Colorado opens fish salvage at Sands Lake before dredging

Original: Colorado Parks and Wildlife opens public fish salvage at Sands Lake ahead of dredging

Colorado Parks and Wildlife has opened a public fish salvage at Sands Lake in Chaffee County, allowing anglers to catch and keep fish before the lake is drained for dredging work. The agency says removing fish ahead of the project prevents them from going to waste, and locals are invited to take advantage of the opportunity.

Why now: The salvage gives anglers a rare chance to keep fish and news of the dredging affects a popular local lake.
