Leeroy Echteld on AZ's slump as Ajax and Juventus loom

Original: leeroy echteld

Dutch media are discussing comments by Leeroy Echteld surrounding AZ Alkmaar's unusually poor autumn form. AZ is in an unprecedented slump in the Eredivisie at a difficult moment, with matches against Ajax and Juventus coming up. Quoted in AD.nl, the mood around the club is defiant: 'We must not let it be talked into us,' as players and staff push back against the criticism.

Why now: AZ's poor run of results, right before high-profile matches against Ajax and Juventus, has put the club and commentary around it in the spotlight.
