A language model that runs entirely in a boot sector
Original: Show HN: A language model that lives in a boot sector
A developer has released BootGPT, a language model designed to fit and run within a computer's boot sector, the small portion of storage normally used to start an operating system. The project, shared on GitHub, is drawing attention from programmers impressed by the technical challenge of squeezing a working model into such a tiny footprint.
Why now: It is a novel, technically impressive hack that fits a language model into an extremely constrained part of a computer, appealing to the hacker community.
