Rangers trio Pederson, Higashioka and Junis decline mutual options
Original: Rangers’ Joc Pederson, Kyle Higashioka and Jakob Junis decline mutual options
Three Texas Rangers players — outfielder/DH Joc Pederson, catcher Kyle Higashioka and pitcher Jakob Junis — have declined their mutual options, making them free agents ahead of the MLB offseason. The moves clear the club from those contracts while letting the players test the open market. All three now look for new deals as teams reshuffle rosters heading into the winter.
Why now: MLB free agency activity is underway and roster decisions are drawing attention from fans tracking offseason moves.
