Astrophysicist Franco Vazza has shared an electromagnetism fact: Earth carries a weak electric field extending everywhere above its surface, averaging about -150 V/m^2. The negative sign means the field points toward the centre of the planet, produced by an excess of negative charge. The post is drawing attention from physics enthusiasts interested in everyday planetary science facts.

Why now: People are engaging with a scientist sharing accessible physics trivia about Earth's electric field.
