Colorado officials warn drivers as deer activity rises with time change
Original: Colorado officials urge caution as end of daylight saving time coincides with uptick in wildlife activity
Colorado officials are warning residents to drive carefully as daylight saving time ends. Earlier sunsets put more commuters on the road at dusk, just as deer and other wildlife are moving more actively during fall. Authorities urge drivers to slow down, stay alert, and watch for animals near roads in the coming weeks.
Why now: The clocks going back mean dusk commutes now overlap with peak fall wildlife movement, raising the risk of animal-vehicle collisions.
