Colorado opens public fish salvage at Sands Lake
Original: Colorado Parks and Wildlife opens public fish salvage at Sands Lake State Wildlife Area
Colorado Parks and Wildlife has opened a public fish salvage at the Sands Lake State Wildlife Area, allowing anglers to take fish from the lake under relaxed bag and possession limits. Such salvages are typically ordered before a lake is drained, drawn down, or treated, so the fish can be collected rather than wasted. The announcement was carried by 9News. Details on dates, methods, and limits should be confirmed with the agency before visiting.
Why now: The agency announced the salvage, drawing local anglers interested in free fish before the lake is altered.
