A photographer shared images of a cactus flower opening on a plant her mother has kept for more than twenty-five years, after bringing it from California when the family moved to Arizona. She noted cactus blooms typically last only about a day, making the sighting a brief but special event, and shared it under the Flower Friday nature photography tag.
Why now: People enjoy rare, short-lived natural events like one-day cactus blooms, especially tied to a long-kept family plant.
