Sudan Alleges Drone Strikes Launched From Ethiopia
Sudan has accused Ethiopia of being the launch point for drone strikes, according to regional news reports. The allegation marks a serious escalation in tensions between the two neighbours, whose border has already been strained by Sudan's ongoing civil war and the movement of armed groups and refugees across the frontier. Details about casualties or the targets of the alleged strikes were not provided in the reports circulating.
Why now: An accusation of cross-border attacks between Sudan and Ethiopia would escalate an already tense regional relationship, drawing wide attention.
